I Liquid Shades nascono a Ferrara nel 2007 da un idea di Marco Gemmetto ma fino al 2009 hanno difficoltà a far partire il progetto per via della scelta particolare del genere da proporre. Con la prima formazione a 4 elementi cominciano a farsi conoscere con una lunga serie di concerti e nel 2010 registrano il primo EP autoprodotto.
Dopo alcune divergenze i componenti prendono strade diverse e nel 2012 con una formazione ampliata, che include tra i suoi punti di forza un nuovo cantante e strumenti a fiato (sax, flauto e tromba), la band riesce finalmente a trovare il giusto slancio. Nel 2014 viene inciso un secondo EP e la band si dedica ad un’altra serie di date dal vivo.
Nel 2015 cominciano le registrazioni del primo album ufficiale che si chiamerà “Reaching for Freedom” ma sempre a causa di un cambio di organico della band e vari problemi causati dallo studio di registrazione, l’album esce solamente nell’agosto del 2017.
Questa serie di eventi porterà un’ondata di cambiamenti all’interno del gruppo, che si rinnoverà totalmente. Con una nuova formazione e dopo una serie di date promozionali ed un lungo periodo di composizione, nell’estate 2019 realizza il secondo album intitolato “Locked Exit” al quale seguono date live, videoclip ufficiali e un intenso periodo promozionale. Il 2020 purtroppo crea non pochi problemi alla band che costretta all’isolamento per la pandemia mondiale si impegna a lavorare a nuove idee a distanza sperando nel 2021 per la produzione di nuovo materiale. Nell’estate del 2022 finalmente, dopo una lunga attesa, la band inizia le registrazioni del terzo album ufficiale e con una nuova energia si dedica all’arrangiamento dei brani scritti durante il periodo di lockdown.

This series of events will bring a wave of changes within the group, which will be totally renewed. With a new formation and after a series of promotional dates and a long period of composition, in the summer of 2019 he will produce the second album entitled “Locked Exit” which will be followed by live dates, official video clips and an intense promotional period. The basic idea of the project is to explore new musical and compositional horizons, without forgetting the greatest teaching of the masters, that is technique is nothing without emotion. Unfortunately, 2020 creates many problems for the band which, forced into isolation due to the world pandemic, is committed to working on new ideas remotely and concluding the production of new material in 2021, which should materialize in the release of a third album in the course of 2022, accompanied by the hope of returning soon to perform live.
